White Ibis Pair Splashing

Bath time at the rookery. Bill Felter has caught two White Ibis in the full exuberance of a shared splash — one standing calmly as water droplets fly from its ruffled feathers, the other mid-flap with wings spread wide, sending a cascade of spray into the dark, glassy water. The vivid red bills and legs pop brilliantly against the crisp white plumage and the deep, shadowy background.
